Unlike the Ninja 300, the Versys-X300’s engine is tuned to perform in the low and mid-range. The braking system is equipped with 290 mm petal disc at the front and a 220 mm single petal disc at the rear. Both ABS and Non-ABS variants will be available in India.
It is supported by a light weight diamond-tube steel frame. The suspension system constitutes telescopic fork suspension at the front with a travel of 129.54 mm and Uni-Trak gas-charged monoshock at the rear with a travel of 147.32 mm for sporty and nimble handling. The bike measures 2,169 mm in length, 861 mm in width and 1,389 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1450 mm, ground clearance of 180 mm and a seat height of 815 mm. The bike weighs 175 kg and gets a 17 litres fuel tank.
The 19-inch spoked wheel at the front and 17-inch spoked wheel at the rear should provide good off-road handling. The front cowling and the tall wind screen are designed to take care of the windblast. The low seat height and tapered design provide an upright and comfortable posture. The bike also gets 17 litre hard saddle bags set, dual auxiliary LED lamp set and hand-guards. The bike is available in two colour schemes: Candy Lime Green/Metallic Graphite Gray & Metallic Graphic Gray/Flat Ebony.
The Versys-X 300 will be assembled at Kawasaki’s Chakan facility (Maharashtra). The bookings are now open at the Kawasaki dealerships.
