BMW Motorrad has finally launched the heavily anticipated BMW G 310 R and the prices are almost the same as we had speculated in our previous article on bookings. The BMW G 310 R has been priced at INR 2,99,000 i.e. almost one lakh costlier than its distant sibling TVS Apache RR310. The BMW G 310 R is the first medium capacity motorcycle developed as a partnership of BMW Motorrad & TVS Motor Company and since it has been manufactured at the TVS’ Hosur plant, near Chennai, the price tag is fairly competitive.
The BMW G 310 R is being offered in 3 color schemes as can be seen in the above pic – Pearl White Metallic, Cosmic Black & Racing Red. It will powered by the same engine as the TVS Apache RR310; just that the BMW Motorrad came up with a street fighter version against the sporty version by TVS. This street fighter from BMW Motorrad can do a top speed of 143 kmph.
The G 310 R will face heavy competition from Bajaj Dominar 400, KTM 390 Duke, KTM 250 Duke and Yamaha FZ 25 as these bikes do perform well and are relatively cheaper. However, you never know how the ‘BMW’ brand tag could change the game. Since its a BMW product, quality will obviously be unquestionable and the bike does get ABS as a standard.
