It is pretty noticeable that India Kawasaki Motors has been revamping its existing models with new models of 2018. The Revamped Versys 650 of 2018 has been launched in India as on 14th November and priced at INR 6,50,000 (Ex-showroom).
The new Versys is upgraded with long-travel suspension and sporty 17 inch wheels. This is one major upgrade. It gets an offset laydown single-shock at the rear. Secondly, it gets a gear position indicator in the instrument cluster and windscreen with 2 inches of tool-free adjustment for comfortable highway cruising. The bike now has sharper looks and new cowls in order to control the airflow around the rider. On scale, the 2018 Versys measures 2,165 mm in length, 840 mm in width and 1,450 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1415 mm, ground clearance of 170 mm and a seat height of 840 mm. The bike weighs 216 kg and gets a 21 litres fuel tank.
The Versys 650 is powered by 649 cc parallel twin DOHC engine with digital fuel injection. It produces a maximum power of 69 PS @ 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 64 Nm @ 7000 rpm. The engine is coupled with 6 speed gearbox. The bike has a diamond high tensile frame and light weight chassis. The braking system is equipped with dual semi floating 300 mm petal discs with dual- 2 piston caliper at the front and a 250 mm single petal disc with single-piston caliper at the rear.
The bike will be available from mid-November in India in green and black color scheme. The motorcycle will be assembled at Chakan, Pune Plant of Kawasaki.
