The pre-bookings for the BMW G 310 GS and the BMW G 310 R have been officially opened today by BMW Motorrad India. The booking amount for both the motorcycles is INR 50,000. The prices of the motorcycles have not been announced yet but one can expect the prices to be INR 3,50,000 for the BMW G 310 GS and INR 3,00,000 for the BMW G 310 R.
The German bike maker has developed the BMW G 310 GS in Germany and the bike inherits most of its design from the bigger siblings. It made its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo while the BMW G 310 R was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. Both the motorcycles will be built at the TVS’ plant at Hosur, India. Both of them will be powered by a single-cylinder, 4-valve reverse inclined DOHC, liquid-cooled 312.2 cc engine with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system that churns out a maximum power of 34 PS and peak torque, similar to the TVS Apache RR310 which was launched in December 2017.
Initially, it was speculated that the prices would be slightly lower than TVS Apache RR310 (INR 2,05,000) which derives most of its parts from the BMW G 310 R. But, it looks like BMW Motorrad is in no mood to go for cost leadership approach!
