Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (HMCL), the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, which is well known for its product strategy, has unveiled three motorcycles – Super Splendor (125 cc), Passion PRO (110 cc) & Passion XPRO (110 cc). This year did not see much of fresh launches from HMCL but just because of its dominant market share in the Indian 2-wheeler industry, it managed to secure a place in the top 3 brands of 2017 (in the 100 – 125 cc segment).
Passion Pro – The New Passion Pro comes with Hero’s intuitive i3S (Idle-stop-start system) and offers 12% more power and torque than its previous generation. However, power was never the primary concern for this motorcycle. It is supposed to be performance oriented and offer hassle-free handling. The bike has a bolder and modern styling. This city commuter is powered by a BS-IV compliant 110 cc Torque on Demand engine which can produce a maximum power of 9.4 PS @ 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 9.0 Nm @ 5500 rpm. The motorcycle is available in both Drum and Disc brakes options. A new muscular tank and sleek rear add to the style quotient of this bike. The bike also features Anoalog – Digital instrument cluster, side stand indicator and AHO headlamp. The bike is being offered in five 5 colour variants – Sports red, Black monotone, Force silver metallic, Heavy grey metallic, Frost blue metallic.
Passion XPRO – The new Passion Pro and XPRO have slight differences in terms of physical appearance and graphics. The engine, chassis and the powertrain is the same for both the motorcycles. The New passion XPRO gets a sharper Fuel Tank with flush type lid, dynamic tank shrouds, sporty real cowl, dual-tone mirrors, LED Tail lamp, Digital-Analog instrument cluster and AHO headlamp. The bike’s look is intended to attract youth and young crowd who look out for fuel efficient performance as well as style.
Super Splendor – The Splendor is one of the oldest motorcycles in the market and still continues to rule the segment with best-in-class performance, reliability and fuel efficiency. The New Super Splendor takes it another level by offering 27% more power and 6% more torque than its previous variant. Whats interesting is that the HMCL claims that it can do a top speed of 94 kmph! The bike will be powered by a new Air-Cooled, single cylinder, OHC, 125 cc TOD engine that produces a maximum power of 11.4 PS @ 7500 rpm and maximum torque of 11 Nm @ 6000 rpm. It is also equipped with Hero i3S technology.
