India Yamaha Motor has announced the precautionary recall of 23,897 units which include 21,640 units of FZ 25 and 2,257 units of Fazer 25. The recall has been announced in order to fix an issue related to head cover bolt loosening before any occurrence of mishaps. As of now, no incidents have been reported and its nice on the Japanese bike makers part that it announced recall with immediate effect.
The motorcycles manufactured January 2017 onward may have been affected. The recall exercise will be carried out free of cost, keeping in mind the convenience of the customer, at any of the authorized dealerships and the bikes’ owners will be contacted individually. Hence, we suggest all FZ 25 and Fazer 25 owners to get their vehicle inspected in case it is amongst the affected ones at the nearest Yamaha dealership.
The recent additions to the Fz series were the 249cc twins Yamaha Fz 25 and Fazer 25. The Fz has been a legacy which hiked the sales figures for Yamaha and has been among the most loved bikes by Indian market. Fazer 25 is just a fully faired version of Fz25. Both the bikes are powered by same Air cooled, SOHC, 2-valve 249 cc engine which produces a 20.9 PS power at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 20.0 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. It can be seen as a bulked up and more powerful version of original Fz. The price of Yamaha FZ 25 is INR 1,19,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the Fazer 25 is priced slightly higher at INR 1,29,335 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
