KRT Edition of Kawasaki Ninja 650 launched in India

As India Kawasaki is revamping the existing models in full swing towards the year ending, KRT Edition Ninja 650 has been a new addition. The special KRT Edition with the Kawasaki Racing Team colour scheme has been launched in India with an intent to empower the riders with Kawasaki’s long legacy of motorcycle racing. The KRT Edition Ninja 650 is priced at INR 5,49,000 (ex-showroom).

The new KRT colour scheme includes Kawasaki’s racing colours of black, grey and green and has the racing bike’s lettering. The new graphics come at a cost as the new edition is priced INR 16,000 more than the regular Ninja 650. The KRT graphics is the only update and there are no mechanical alterations. The Ninja 650 measures 2,115 mm in length, 740 mm in width and 1,130 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1410 mm, ground clearance of 130 mm and a seat height of 790 mm. The bike weighs 196 kg and gets a 15 litres fuel tank.

The Ninja 650 gets its power from a compact 649 cc, parallel twin, liquid cooled engine with TCBI with Electronic Advance injection. The engine is capable of producing a maximum power of 68 PS @ 8000 rpm and a peak torque of 65.7 Nm @ 6500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6 speed gearbox. The bike has a trellis high tensile (double-pipe, perimeter-style) frame and a slim-light handling chassis. The suspension system consists of 41 mm telescopic forks in the front and Horizontal Back-link mono-shock with adjustable preload in the rear. The braking system is equipped with Dual semi-floating 300 mm petal discs with Nissin Dual piston caliper at the front and a 220 mm single petal disc with Nissin single-piston caliper at the rear. Also, the bike gets Bosch 9.1 ABS system as a standard component.

The Ninja 650 KRT Edition will be BS IV compliant and will be available in India from mid-November onward.
