The heavily anticipated TVS Apache RR310 had been in development for over two years since its debut as the Akula concept at the 2016 Auto Expo held in Greater Noida. TVS Motor Company has finally launched its first full-faired entry-level sport motorcycle at INR 2,05,000 (ex-showroom).
The TVS Apache RR 310 is powered by a single-cylinder, 4-valve reverse inclined DOHC, liquid-cooled 312.2 cc engine with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system that churns out a maximum power of 34 PS @ 9700 rpm and peak torque of 27.3 Nm @ 7700 rpm. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed super-slick gear box and utilizes a LCOC (liquid-cooled oil coolant) technology. It gets the race origin, light-weight trellis-frame chassis for brilliant handling and dexterity in dynamic cornering capability. The company claims a top speed of 160 kmph and acceleration from 0-60 kmph in mere 2.9 seconds.
The TVS Apache RR 310 is loaded with advanced technology and features. It is the first-in-class motorcycle to get bi-LED twin projector head lamps and Michelin Street Sport tyres. It gets a unique race-inspired vertical speedo-cum-tachometer which even provides a comprehensive post-ride analysis. The braking system by Bybre consists of a 300 mm petal disc at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear. Dual channel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) will be offered as a standard for this motorcycle. To enhance the riding experience, the bike is equipped with Race Spec KYB Suspension that is tested and tuned by MotoGP experts. The motorcycle is being offered in two colour schemes – Racing Red and Sinister Black.
The TVS Apache RR 310 is the second offering from the TVS-BMW Motorrad partnership and derives most of its parts from the BMW G310R. The combination of superior performance & riding dynamics with a fully faired sporty design is a result of rigorous testing and key inputs and feedback by the TVS Racing Team throughout the development process to ensure ultimate control on the track and street. The bike has a premium built quality right from the switch gear to the aerodynamic fairing and seems to be a good overall package.
The motorcycle will be manufactured at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur facility. The bookings for Apache RR 310 are expected to begin by the end of December.
